The experience

You arrive at the cruise port with a few hours to spend and no plan yet. A private micro-bus picks you up with a local guide who knows the island and speaks your language. The vehicle is air-conditioned and seats up to 15 passengers, so families and small groups travel together without splitting up. From there, the day is flexible: the Chocolate Factory and Rum Company are on the route as free optional stops where you taste local flavors and learn how cacao and rum are made on the island. The Rum Company offers a rum sample and local cake. The Chocolate Factory walks you through the process and lets you try white, spicy and different sugar percentages.

Beyond those two stops, you decide what comes next. The guide takes you to the Roatan Color Sign (a photo landmark most visitors want), then to Panoramic Hill for a view over Coxen Hole village, and to local markets where you can browse without pressure. If you want to add a beach break, a visit to the Sloths, Monkeys & Bird Park, snorkeling, parasailing or a zipline, you arrange that at booking and the guide builds it into the route. The Rusty Fish recycle shop, stocked with marine art by local makers, is another optional stop. Multiple photo breaks are included throughout.

The tour runs three to five hours depending on what you choose to do, and the guide gets you back to the cruise port on time. This is not a fixed itinerary: it is a private vehicle and a local who knows where to go, shaped by what you want to see.

Is this one for you?The private format means your group sets the pace and chooses the stops, which works well if you want to customize your afternoon rather than follow a fixed schedule. If you'd rather have an itinerary planned for you, a group tour with set stops might suit you better.

What happens if it rains?

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.

Can I add activities like snorkeling or the wildlife park to my tour?

Yes. Snorkeling, parasailing, zipline, beach breaks and the Sloths, Monkeys & Bird Park are all available as add-ons you select at checkout. The guide will work them into your route and timing.

What happens at the Chocolate Factory and Rum Company stops?
