The experience

The captain picks the route through seven stages of the lagoon, moving between mangrove channels, small islands and open water. The wreck snorkel happens over shallow ground where starfish sit on the bottom. The turquoise shallows are calm enough to wade and stand. Between stops, the captain talks through the ecosystem (what lives in the mangroves, which fish you are seeing, why the reef matters), and shares anecdotes about local traditions and island life. The whole circuit runs 4 hours.

Mask and snorkel are provided. Infants must sit on an adult's lap during the boat ride. The meeting point is roughly an hour's drive from Pointe à Pitre cruise terminal. If you are arriving by ship, check your company's arrival and departure times before booking to make sure the timing works. There is no shuttle from the terminal itself, so you will need to arrange your own transport to the departure point.
