Zakynthos Shipwreck Beach & Blue Caves: land and sea tour
You see the shipwreck from the cliff, then sail beneath the Blue Caves from the water.

The Experience
The day starts with a minibus pickup from your hotel in Zakynthos, then heads to the Navagio viewpoint, where you stand above the cliffs and photograph the shipwreck surrounded by turquoise water and dramatic rock faces. From there, the tour moves to a relaxation stop with views of the east coast, then to Xigia Natural Spa Beach, where sulfur-infused waters are said to have therapeutic properties, and Makris Gialos Beach with its golden sand and pine-tree backdrop. A local guide travels with you throughout, offering commentary on the island's history and pointing out photo opportunities.
At the harbor, you board either a glass-bottom boat or a speedboat (your choice, paid on the day) to reach Shipwreck Beach from the water—a perspective the clifftop viewpoint cannot give. The boat then enters the Blue Caves, where sunlight filters through the rock formations and turns the water shades of blue. Depending on conditions and your boat choice, you may also visit White Beach, a secluded cove with white pebbles and clear water for swimming.
The tour includes a stop at a local winery and olive oil producer, where you taste wine, olive oil, and other regional products in a setting with sea views. Bottled water is provided throughout the day. The route and timing can shift based on weather and sea conditions, and landing directly on Shipwreck Beach sand is not permitted under current regulations—you experience it from the boat and the clifftop instead. On extremely hot summer days, the road to the Navagio viewpoint may close due to wildfire risk.

Can I swim at Shipwreck Beach, or do I just see it from the boat?
Shipwreck Beach itself is not a swimming stop; you view it from the water and photograph it from the clifftop. The tour includes swimming time at White Beach and Makris Gialos Beach, both with clear water and time to enter the sea.
What's the difference between the glass-bottom boat and the speedboat?
The glass-bottom boat lets you watch marine life and the seabed through the hull as you travel; the speedboat is faster and covers more distance. Both reach the Blue Caves and Shipwreck Beach. The glass-bottom boat costs €25 per adult and €15 per child (ages 3–11); the speedboat is €50 per person.
Is lunch included in the tour price?
Lunch is optional and not included in the base tour price. The tour does include a wine, olive oil, and local products tasting at a winery stop with sea views.
Do I need to arrange my own transport to the starting point?
Hotel pickup and drop-off within Zakynthos Town are included in the tour price. Pickups from locations more than 10 km outside town (Keri, Marathias, Vasilikos, Ag. Nikolaos, Volimes) incur an additional €20 per way.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my tour?
The order of stops and timing may change based on weather and sea conditions to keep the tour safe. On extremely hot summer days, the road to the Navagio viewpoint may close due to wildfire risk; in that case, the guide will adjust the itinerary.
Are children allowed on this tour?
Yes, children from age 3 are welcome. The boat ticket for children ages 3–11 is €15 on the glass-bottom boat (€25 for adults) or €50 per person on the speedboat.
