A 6.5-hour activity in Chania where you taste olive oil at Melissakis Mill, learn how it's made and sample several oils alongside vinegars and local sweets, then travel to a family estate in the mountains to taste wine straight from the barrel, suit up and visit the bees to find the queen, and finish with a traditional Cretan lunch in the vineyards under views of Lefka Ori. The experience

The day starts at Melissakis Olive Oil Mill, where you learn how olive oil is made and what separates quality levels. You taste several different oils at the source, along with other Cretan products (vinegars, olives, sweets), so you understand what you're tasting before you leave. Then you head into the mountains to the family estate where Vasili, your host, makes wine and keeps bees. You taste wines directly from the barrel, which means you're tasting them the way he does, not a finished bottle poured in a tasting room.

Next comes the bees. You suit up and walk into the hives to find the queen and watch how honey is made. Vasili explains what you're seeing as you move through. Then you sit down to a traditional Cretan lunch in the vineyards themselves, with the Lefka Ori mountains in front of you. Wine is unlimited at the meal, and snacks come throughout the day.
