Summary

Yacht cruise Milos with swim stops at Kleftiko caves and Poliegos

You’ll taste fresh Greek food right on deck, float in turquoise coves near Kleftiko and Poliegos, listen to local legends from your guide, and watch sunlight bounce off Milos’ cliffs. Swim stops, open bar, snorkeling gear — everything’s included so you can just relax into island time.

experience

What’s the experience like?

"You see those caves? Pirates used to hide in there," our guide Nikos said, pointing out towards Kleftiko as we drifted closer. The boat rocked gently under us — I could smell salt and sunscreen, someone’s coffee drifting over from the open bar. It was early but already warm, and the white cliffs of Milos looked almost too bright against the blue water. I’d seen pictures before, but being here felt different — like you’re inside a painting but also kind of sticky from sea spray.

We stopped near Firopotamos Beach for our first swim. The water was that wild turquoise you only ever see in Greece (or maybe on Instagram, but it’s real here). I hesitated at first — not exactly graceful climbing down the ladder — but then I was floating, looking up at these colorful houses right by the shore. There were kids waving from a fishing boat; one of them shouted something in Greek and everyone laughed, including Nikos who translated for us later (something about tourists swimming like octopuses). Lunch was served after — simple grilled fish, tomatoes that tasted like sunshine, cold beer. Not fancy, just perfect.

I didn’t expect to care much about pirate stories but Nikos made them feel alive. He pointed out old markings on the rocks as we circled Kleftiko; apparently some are still visible if you squint right. The air smelled faintly of thyme from somewhere inland. At Poliegos island we had another swim stop — this time I tried snorkeling for the first time (mask kept fogging up but still worth it). We passed Klima village too, all those rainbow doors lined up along the shore; someone on deck took about fifty photos in five minutes. Honestly can’t blame them.

By late afternoon most people were just lying back on deck or chatting quietly over fruit plates. There was a moment when everything went quiet except for the sound of water against the hull and distant gulls — I still think about that silence sometimes. We headed back to port with sunburned noses and sand stuck everywhere (how does it get into your shoes on a boat?), not ready for it to end yet.
