Your hosts cook from fresh market ingredients and share their family recipes at the table.

A traditional Greek dinner hosted by Nikolas and his mother Stella in their north Athens home, with panoramic city views and included wine. You'll eat a three-course menu of Greek classics (eggplant salad or tzatziki, pastitsio or moussaka, and Greek yogurt or baklava), while they play traditional music and talk you through their culinary heritage and family stories.

The experience

Two and a half hours in a local home beats a restaurant table for learning how Greeks actually cook and eat. Nikolas and Stella set the menu around what they've bought that day at the market, so the dishes change. You'll start with melitzano salad or tzatziki and bread, move to pastitsio or moussaka (the baked pasta or eggplant dish that anchors a Greek table), and finish with Greek yogurt with confit fruit or handmade baklava. Wine is included. You can bring your own if you prefer something specific.

The terrace overlooks Athens, and the evening runs to traditional music: Zorba and Syrtaki playing while you eat. Stella and Nikolas don't perform. They cook, serve, and sit with you to answer questions about the food, the stories behind the recipes, and how their family has cooked for generations. It's the kind of knowledge a guidebook doesn't carry.

The home is in north Athens, a ten-minute drive or public transit ride from the center. You'll get the full address on your confirmation voucher. Let your hosts know ahead of time if you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions. They'll work around it. The experience is open to anyone eighteen and up.

Top questions

What's the actual menu at a Greek dinner like this?

The menu changes based on what Nikolas and Stella find at the market that day, but it follows the same three-course structure: a starter of melitzano salad or tzatziki with bread; a main of either pastitsio (Greek baked pasta with ground meat and béchamel) or moussaka (eggplant or potato with ground meat); and dessert of Greek yogurt with confit fruit or handmade baklava.

Where exactly is the home, and how do I get there?

The home is in north Athens, reachable in about ten minutes by car or public transportation from the city center. Your confirmation voucher will have the full address under the "Before You Go" section.

Is wine included, or do I need to bring my own?

Wine is included with the dinner. You're also welcome to bring your own bottle if you'd like to drink something specific.

What if I have food allergies or dietary restrictions?

Tell Nikolas and Stella about any allergies or special diet needs when you book. They'll adjust the menu to work around your restrictions.
