The descent follows the Vasiliki Strata, a Venetian-era path that brings you back to where you started. Afterward, you eat a traditional Cretan meal at a tavern on the plateau—you choose what to order and pay for it there—before the driver takes you back to your hotel. The terrain is steep and loose in places, so standard sneakers won't work; the guide will help you check your footwear after booking if you're unsure.
