Off-road into Corfu's northern villages and the highest monastery view

A full-day shore excursion from Corfu port explores the island's north in a 4×4 vehicle, stopping at Alimmatades Village for coffee, climbing to Pantokrator Monastery for views across the Ionian, and driving off-road to Old Peritheia: a centuries-old village where you eat lunch and walk the stone streets. Groups stay under seven passengers per vehicle with a multilingual driver. The route includes six to seven hours of travel, stops and meals combined.

The experience

The tour starts with port pickup and a 50-minute drive inland to Alimmatades Village, where a coffee stop lets you settle into the pace before the day's main climbs. From there, the route heads toward Pantokrator Monastery (a 45-minute drive with a photo stop along the way), and spends 25 minutes at the monastery itself, which sits at the northern peak and holds the best panoramic view of Corfu's landscape. The scale of what you see from up there is the reason the stop matters. The monastery is small and the visit is brief, but the vantage is the whole point.

After Pantokrator, the itinerary turns to the off-road section: a 15-minute drive above Sinies with another photo stop, then a 25-minute 4×4 push into Old Peritheia, a village that has held its stone layout and traditional character for centuries. Lunch happens here (traditional Greek food, eaten in the village itself), and you get 90 minutes to eat and walk the narrow streets before the group moves on. A scenic viewpoint and final photo stop follow, then the drive back to port takes 40 minutes.

The vehicles are 7-seater 4×4s, which means the off-road sections are genuine but not extreme. The driver speaks English and manages the route for all fitness levels. Port pickup and drop-off are included, and liability insurance covers the day. Lunch is part of the package, though coffee at the first village stop and any drinks at the tavern are separate purchases.
