Step-by-step itinerary
Visit Argiroupoli, Chania, and Lake Kournas
- Walk and explore Argiroupoli village
- Free time in Chania city
- Relax and enjoy Lake Kournas
The experience
You start with hotel pickup and head to Argiroupoli, a mountain village in the foothills where you walk to both the upper square and the natural springs below: a short, scenic stop that sets the tone for the day. From there, it's roughly fifty minutes to Chania, where you have three full hours to move at your own pace: wander the narrow alleys of the old town, sit by the harbor, browse local shops, or grab a coffee and watch the rhythm of the city. The guide stays with the bus, so you're free to explore exactly what interests you.
On the return, you stop at Lake Kournas, Crete's only natural freshwater lake. Forty-five minutes from Chania, it's the kind of place where you can swim if you want to, rent a paddle boat, or simply sit with a drink and let the afternoon slow down. You have two and a half hours here before the drive back. The whole day is built around movement and choice: three distinct places, time to linger in each one, and a guide who handles the route so you don't have to think about it.
