The experience

You arrive at your hotel with a free afternoon or a full day ahead, and the island is too big to cover on foot. Instead of joining a tour bus, you pick up a vehicle (either a sport buggy, a family buggy that seats four, a vintage buggy, or an ATV quad), and you're the one behind the wheel. The rental runs from 3 to 12 hours, so you choose how long to stay out. All vehicles are brand new, built for the roads of Zakynthos, and come with helmets and a map so you can plot your own stops without anyone telling you where to go.

The setup is straightforward: after you book, you contact the supplier via WhatsApp to arrange the pickup time and location. They'll meet you at your hotel or anywhere else on the island that works. You drive on road only, navigating the streets at your own speed, stopping for lunch, swimming, or a viewpoint whenever you want. The vehicle comes with third-party insurance, and all fees and taxes are already in the price. Fuel is your responsibility. You return the buggy or quad with the same fuel level it had when you picked it up.

This is self-drive, so there's no guide narrating the route or keeping you on schedule. You're not following a group or watching from a passenger seat. The trade is independence: you get to explore what interests you, linger where you want, and skip what doesn't. A valid driving licence (category B or C, EU or International) and at least one person in the vehicle aged 21 or older are required.
