You start at the Parliament Building to photograph the evzones (the ceremonial guards in their traditional kilts) one of Athens' most recognizable sights. From there the route moves into the National Gardens, a 7,000-tree oasis with a pond, ancient ruins and a botanical museum tucked inside it, where the lush backdrop shifts what you can frame. The guide walks you through to the Presidential Mansion, then to Pnyx Hill, where you climb to a vantage point where ancient philosophers once gathered and the Acropolis spreads out below you.
