The local rep from Mole Boy Travel meets you at Tamale airport at 7:30am after the early flight from Accra. You've been awake since before dawn, but the drive to Damongo takes three hours and by the time you arrive at Mole Motel, the park is already opening up — acacia trees, dry grass, and the sound of birds you've never heard before. Lunch comes at noon, and then the first game drive runs 3:30pm to 5:30pm. That's when you see them: herds of elephant moving through the scrub, antelope scattered across the plains, and the sheer number of animals that live here. Mole holds 93 species of mammals. The guide points out the patterns — where the water is, where the herds move at different times of day — and you start to understand the rhythm of the place.

Day two flips the script. A walking safari at 7am puts you on foot in the park, moving slowly through the landscape with a guide who reads the ground — tracks, scat, the direction animals have moved. Breakfast after, then the community tour begins around 10:30am. You visit Larabanga Mosque, a mud-brick structure that's been standing for centuries, and the mystic stone nearby — a place locals say holds spiritual weight. Then a canoe safari on the water, paddling through a different part of the ecosystem, and a village walk where you see how people live alongside the park. By afternoon you're back at the hotel for lunch and rest.
