The experience
The metal box arrives with a start card and all 11 numbered flip cards inside. You begin at Leipzig Central Station, where the imposing Art Nouveau facade sets the tone for the day. Each card holds a task and interesting facts or insider tips about that location, so you get the anecdotes a real guide would share without needing one. The sequence takes you past the opera house on Augustusplatz, the Gewandhaus concert hall, the striking university building, and the Moritzbastei: a medieval fortress turned cultural club. You move through the city on your own schedule, stopping when you want and lingering as long as you like.
The route passes through some of Leipzig's most storied architecture. Mädlerpassage, one of Europe's finest Art Nouveau passages, houses Auerbach's Keller, the 16th-century restaurant that inspired Goethe's Faust. St. Thomas Church, where Bach served as cantor for over 27 years and is buried, sits a short walk away. The Old Town Hall on the market square is one of Germany's most beautiful Renaissance buildings. The hunt ends at Nikolaikirche, the church where the Peaceful Revolution began in 1989. All 11 stops sit within the city center and are reachable on foot.
You'll need to arrange your own transport to Leipzig and between stops if you don't walk the whole route. The box must be ordered far enough in advance to allow shipping time, and cancellation is possible only before the box ships or if you return it in full. Groups of up to 10 can work through the hunt together, making it work for families, friends or small groups who want to explore the city without booking a guide.

Top questions
How long does the scavenger hunt actually take to complete?
The hunt is designed to take 3 to 4 hours, though the pace is entirely yours. You can move faster through the stops or spend extra time at any landmark that interests you.
What happens if I get stuck on one of the tasks at a station?
Each flip card includes the task and an answer card so you can check your solution and find the number of the next card. The cards are designed so you can work through them independently without needing help.
Do I need to pay entrance fees at any of the churches or buildings on the route?
Entrance fees are not included in the box. Most of the stops, like the opera house and churches, can be viewed and photographed from the outside. The observation deck at the university building is paid separately if you choose to visit it.
Can I do this hunt with children in a stroller?
Yes. The route stays within the city center and is walkable with a pram or stroller. All 11 stops are accessible on foot, and you set the pace, so you can take breaks whenever needed.
When will the box arrive if I book now?
Shipping within Germany takes approximately 2 to 4 working days. To Austria and Switzerland, 5 to 7 working days. You'll need to send your delivery address through the booking platform after booking so the operator can ship the box in time for your trip.
