Kayaking in Saarbrücken: Paddle the city center

Kayak, canoe or stand-up paddle board down the Saar River through Saarbrücken's inner city on a guided activity lasting around two hours. You start at the base in St. Arnual, paddle downstream past city sights to the edge of the center near Burbach, then return upstream: manageable because the river has no current. The experience
You choose your boat before you start: kayak, canoe or stand-up paddle board. The guide meets your group at the base in St. Arnual and leads you downstream on the Saar, passing landmarks as you paddle through Saarbrücken's inner city. The route covers around 5.6 km total, taking you from the starting point through the center and out to the edge near Burbach. Because the river has no current, the return journey is just as easy as the way down. You're not fighting the water on the way back.
The activity runs for around two hours and includes all equipment, a guided paddle with a live leader, and access to changing rooms and showers at the base. The guide speaks English, French or German, so language is not a barrier. Children from age 6 can join. Younger children can ride along in a pram or stroller if needed. The base is accessible by public transport, and the site itself is wheelchair accessible.
What’s included
- All equipment (kayak, canoe or stand-up paddle board of your choice).
- a guided paddle with a live leader.
- access to changing rooms, showers and sanitary facilities at the base.
