The experience

You arrive at Frankfurt Airport with a 5-hour layover and no intention of leaving the terminal. Instead of wandering duty-free or sitting at a gate, you take the complimentary transfer, a 2-minute drive, to the Steigenberger Airport Hotel Frankfurt, where the Airport Recovery Experience begins. A staff member checks you in, hands you a bathrobe, towels and slippers, and points you toward the changing rooms and secure lockers. You shower, change, and step into the spa area proper.

The 60-minute massage is the centerpiece. A professional therapist works through travel fatigue and jetlag tension in your shoulders, back and legs while you lie on a heated table. After, you move between the sauna, the steam bath and quiet relaxation zones at your own pace, pausing to drink an espresso, a welcome wellness drink, and an electrolyte hydration drink designed for flight recovery. A second beverage (tea, juice or soft drink) waits whenever you want it. The whole sequence is built around the fact that you have 4 hours and nowhere else to be.

The transfer back to the airport terminal is included and timed to your flight. You return to the gate showered, massaged and actually rested instead of stiff from sitting. The experience is wheelchair accessible, and staff can arrange assistance if you need it.
