The experience
The minivan picks you up from your Passau hotel or port and drives you across the border into the Czech Republic, arriving in Český Krumlov mid-morning. A local certified guide meets you there and walks you through the old town and up to Český Krumlov Castle, pointing out the Renaissance facades, the narrow lanes that wind between buildings, and the river bend that wraps around the town. The guided portion lasts 1.5 hours and covers the main sights and their history.
After the tour ends, you have 2.5 hours on your own. Some travelers climb to the castle's tower for views across the rooftops. Others eat lunch at a riverside restaurant, browse the small museums, or simply sit in the main square and watch the light change on the stone. There's no schedule to keep and no group to follow. The minivan and driver wait for you, and at the agreed time you head back to Passau, arriving in the evening.
The vehicle is a non-smoking air-conditioned minivan, and the group size depends on which option you book: the tour runs for groups of 1 to 4 people, 5 to 8, or 9 to 15. Bottled water is provided during the drive. All road tolls, fees and taxes are covered. You'll need a valid passport to cross into the Czech Republic.

Is this one for you?Choose the group size that matches your party at checkout: smaller groups move at a more relaxed pace through the old town, while larger groups share the cost of the minivan. Either way, the split between guided tour and free time means you get the history and context from a local without being shepherded through the entire day.

How much time do I actually have to explore on my own?

Do I need to arrange my own transport from Passau to Český Krumlov?
No. The private minivan picks you up from your Passau hotel or port and brings you back there at the end of the day, so you don't need to book a separate transfer or figure out train schedules.

The price covers the minivan, the guided tour, hotel pickup and drop-off, bottled water, road tolls and taxes. Lunch, museum entry fees, castle interior tickets and gratuities are separate.
