The experience
The Palace of Versailles opens early for your group, so you walk the Hall of Mirrors and royal apartments without the crowds that fill the rooms by mid-morning. Your private guide explains the history of each room as you move through them, then leads you to the gardens where a golf cart waits. The golf cart holds up to four passengers, so if your group is larger, one person drives a second cart: both follow the same route through the grounds.
The cart ride follows the Grande Perspective, the main axis Le Nôtre laid out across the gardens, and stops at the Versailles Fountains. You have free time for lunch at one of the estate's restaurants (not included), then continue by cart toward the Grand Trianon, Louis XIV's marble residence on the far side of the grounds. After a tasting from the renowned Angelina, you walk through Marie Antoinette's Hamlet, her private countryside retreat with cottages, gardens, and a lake. The return to the main palace takes another golf cart ride, ending your seven-hour experience near where you started.
The tour runs rain or shine, and comfortable walking shoes help on the stretches between the cart stops. Your English-speaking guide is included. The operator also offers guides in Spanish, Portuguese, and French. The private transfer from Paris to Versailles and back is part of the booking, so you don't arrange your own transport.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (3 to 17 years); Infant (under 3): free.
What's the Hall of Mirrors like when you first walk in?
The Hall of Mirrors is the palace's most famous room, a long gallery lined with arched mirrors and chandeliers that reflect light across the space. Your guide walks you through it early in the morning when the first-entry access means far fewer visitors are inside, so you can stand and look without being pressed by crowds.
Can I drive the second golf cart if my group is larger than three people?
Yes, if your group has more than three people, one guest drives the second cart. The driver must be at least 24 years old and bring a valid photo driver's license: no copies are accepted. Both carts follow the same route through the gardens.
How much time do you spend in the gardens on the golf cart?
The golf cart tour covers the Grande Perspective and the fountains, with stops to explore on foot. The exact time varies depending on your group's pace and interests, but the cart is the main way you cover the vast grounds rather than walking the whole distance.
What is the Grand Trianon?
The Grand Trianon is Louis XIV's elegant marble residence, set apart from the main palace on the far side of the gardens. Your guide explains its royal history as you visit, and it's one of the more private royal retreats within the Versailles estate.
Is lunch included in the tour?
Lunch is not included. You have free time to eat at one of the restaurants on the estate, and you choose where and what you'd like to have.
