The experience

The boat leaves Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat port and heads along the coast past Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild and Villa Kerylos, two of the peninsula's most recognizable estates. You'll cruise the Bay of Beaulieu with views toward Èze and Cap d'Ail, then circle the Cap Ferrat peninsula itself, where the guide points out some of the world's most expensive villas tucked into the hillside.

Your first swimming stop is Les Fossettes, a small cove known mainly to locals, ringed by maritime pines and cicadas with water clear enough to snorkel. After you climb back aboard, the boat continues into the Bay of Villefranche, where the colourful old town of Villefranche-sur-Mer sits on the water. A second swim happens here before the return to port. Throughout the day you get a French aperitif, local pastries from award-winning pastry chefs, and a choice of water, soft drinks, rosé or beer. The boat carries sunbeds, a flybridge, a warm-water shower, snorkel gear, life jackets and a shaded area to retreat into if the sun gets too strong.

You choose between a 2.5-hour off-season option, a 2.5-hour private boat cruise, or the full 4-hour version that gives you more time in each bay and a second swim. All three run as private charters, so the boat and the day are yours alone. The guide speaks English or French, and the boat has a bathroom and Bluetooth sound system on board.

Operated by Good Time

Is this one for you?Pick the 4-hour option if you want both swimming stops and time to drift in each bay. The 2.5-hour cruise works if you're short on time but still want the first cove and the coastal views. Either way, booking early in your stay lets you reschedule if weather turns, since the operator may need to shift the date.
