The experience

The day starts with parking in La Capte village and a walk across two wooden bridges to Pesquiers Beach, where an annex boat picks you up for the transfer to the sailboat. The crossing to Porquerolles takes roughly an hour, following the southern cliffs, forests and coves of the Giens peninsula. Once you arrive, the boat anchors at Courtade Beach, the largest sandy beach on the island, bordered by pine and eucalyptus forest.

At Courtade, you swim, paddle, snorkel or simply rest while the crew prepares a meal from fresh ingredients. Rosé, rosito and sangria are available alongside water, sparkling water and soft drinks. The menu includes tapenade, chicken pokébowl and vegetables, plus fruit. After eating, the boat heads north to Notre-Dame Bay, an 800-meter stretch of sand voted the most beautiful beach in Europe, set back in pine forest with shallow water for swimming.

The return journey takes about an hour. As weather permits, you're invited to help hoist the sails on the way back to La Capte. The guide speaks both English and French throughout the day, and children from age three can join. Bring extra snacks or drinks if you wish. Public transport options are nearby if you need them to reach the parking area.
