Step-by-step itinerary
Full day private wine tour in Provence
- Meet guide at 9am at hotel
- Visit high quality wineries
- Learn about grape varieties and blending
- Taste Rosés, reds, and whites
- Visit Cassis or Aix en Provence or Lourmarin
The experience
Cassis, Aix en Provence and Lourmarin each anchor a different route through the Provence wine region, so the wineries you visit depend on which town you pick for your lunch break. Your guide selects the stops based on what's operating on your date and what suits your taste preferences, whether you're drawn to the region's famous dry rosés, powerful reds built from Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, or the lighter whites. The itinerary takes shape after you book, when your guide confirms the exact departure time and which town fits your accommodation's location.
You meet your guide at 9am in front of your hotel or accommodation (anywhere from Marseille to Avignon, the Luberon villages or the Alpilles), and travel by private minivan throughout the day. Winery visits and tastings are included. The guide walks you through what you're tasting and how the wines are made. A lunch break in your chosen town breaks up the day, though food and drinks there are on your own. The tour runs six to eight hours depending on your location and the stops available that day.
