The Experience

"You know, Gustave Eiffel used to stand right here and watch the city change," our guide Léa said, tapping the old iron rail as we squeezed into the glass elevator. Some people went straight for champagne; I just stood there trying to memorize how the city looked from above clouds. Still think about that view sometimes when I hear church bells or smell rain on concrete—it’s weird what sticks with you.
