The experience

You arrive at Le Havre cruise port and board a coach within 30 minutes of disembarkation. The drive to Paris takes three hours through the Norman countryside, and the operator times every departure and return to match your ship's schedule: no risk of missing it. Once in the city, your guide joins you and walks through the major landmarks: the Arc de Triomphe at the head of the Champs-Élysées, where twelve avenues meet; the Eiffel Tower viewed from Place du Trocadéro; Place de la Concorde between the Tuileries Garden and the Champs-Élysées; and the newly renovated exterior of Notre-Dame Cathedral. You also pass Les Invalides with its golden dome and Napoleon's tomb.

The Seine river cruise is the centerpiece of the afternoon. You float past the Louvre Museum, Musée d'Orsay, Île Saint-Louis with its boutique shops and cafés, the Palais Royal, and back toward the Eiffel Tower and Notre-Dame from the water. Vintage bridges and riverside gardens frame the route. After the cruise, the coach returns you to Le Havre, arriving in time for dinner aboard ship. The entire day runs ten hours.

Does the river cruise go inside any museums?

The Seine river cruise is a boat ride only. You view the Louvre Museum and Musée d'Orsay from the water but do not enter either one. The cruise passes Île Saint-Louis, the Palais Royal, Notre-Dame and the Eiffel Tower from the river.

Can I book this tour if I want to explore Paris on my own instead of with a guide?

Yes. The Self-Guided Exploration option includes transport from the port and back to the ship, but removes the guide and the river cruise. You have the full day in Paris to walk and explore at your own pace.
