Nancy escape game: Solve puzzles in the historic city center

You have two hours to break a curse and find the hidden passage

An outdoor escape game in Nancy's historic city center where you and your team solve puzzles, meet characters, and gather code words to unlock access to a secret underground passage before time runs out. Play on any day and time that suits you. A live guide in your chosen language (English, French or German) leads the experience. Photos and videos save directly to your smartphone.

The experience

The game starts in the heart of Nancy's historic center with a curse: an underground passage has been sealed away, and you have 120 minutes to break the spell and find it. You'll move through the city visiting locations marked on your smartphone, meeting noble families and their servants at each stop. At every meeting, you solve puzzles and gather clues to unlock code words: collect all four and you'll have what you need to locate the hidden platform before the clock runs out.

Your team works together using the free app you download before you start, which also delivers your unique game code and full instructions. The live guide in your language keeps the story moving and ensures the puzzles stay on track. Since you choose the day and time, there's no waiting for a group departure or a set schedule. You book when it works for you and play whenever you're ready.

The game is designed for all fitness levels and works for friends, colleagues or family. Wheelchair users can navigate all areas and surfaces, and public transportation stops are nearby if you need them. Video and photos from the game are saved to your phone so you keep a record of the experience.

Is this one for you?Book the English-language option if that's your working language, French if you speak it fluently, or German if that's your preference: the guide's language doesn't change the puzzles or the two-hour time limit, only how the story is told. Choose this game if you want to control when you play and move through Nancy's center at your own pace rather than following a fixed tour schedule.

Top questions

What languages is the tour guided in?

Live guide in English, French and German.

How many people can play this escape game together?

One team plays together as a single unit, with all members working toward the same goal of unlocking the passage. The team size itself is not limited by the game, so you can bring as many friends, family members or colleagues as you want to solve the puzzles together.

What happens if my team doesn't find the code words within the 2 hours?

The platform closes after 120 minutes, so time is part of the challenge. The game is designed to be solvable within that window, but the pressure of the countdown is what makes the experience intense. You'll need to work quickly and think strategically to gather all four code words in time.

Do I need my own smartphone to play, or is one provided?

You use your own smartphone to download the free app and receive your unique game code. The app displays the locations you need to visit, the puzzles to solve, and the clues you gather from each family you meet.

Can I really choose any day and time to play this game?

Yes, you pick the day and time that works for you without needing to book in advance or wait for a scheduled group departure. Once you have your game code, you can start whenever you're ready.
