The experience
Eze Village sits at 429 meters on a narrow rocky peak, so steep and isolated that it earned the nickname "eagle's nest." The tour starts there, where you walk through narrow stone streets past exotic gardens, perfume factories, and centuries of layered history: Phoenicians, Romans, Moors, and Italians all left their mark before Monaco claimed it. A free guided visit to the Fragonard Factory, the largest perfume maker on the French Riviera, shows how the scent trade works here. The Nietzsche's Walk, also called the Philosopher's Path, descends from the village toward the sea if you want to stretch your legs.
From Eze, the route drops down to Monaco, known as "The Rock" for its headland jutting into the Mediterranean. The Old Town holds the Prince Palace, the Cathedral built in white stone and consecrated in 1911 (where Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier were married and buried), and the Oceanographic Museum, which houses sea fauna collections, model ships, skeletons, and maritime objects. You move through these sites with a live guide who speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French, or one of several other languages.
The final leg traces Monte-Carlo's world-famous Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit by car, passing the Hotel de Paris, Café de Paris, and Casino Square with its luxury shops and casinos. The whole day runs five hours and includes hotel pickup and drop-off, bottled water, and transport in a private vehicle. If you're arriving by ship, port pickup is available instead.
