Observe, listen, and learn what the horses reflect back about yourself

You meet the horses in their natural countryside environment between Cabourg, Houlgate and Dives-sur-Mer, work through simple exercises and free interaction, and use their responses to understand your own emotions, boundaries and behaviour. A certified equicoach leads the session in English or French. Children from age 4 are welcome, and no previous horse experience is needed.

The experience
You step into the paddock and meet the horses on their terms. There's no performance, no forced interaction: the horse decides whether to approach, move away or simply observe from a distance. What unfolds instead is a conversation without words. Horses are extraordinarily sensitive to body language, energy and shifts in your behaviour, which means they become a mirror for how you show up in the world. Through guided observation and moments of free interaction, you notice patterns in yourself: how you approach another being, whether you claim your space, how you express a boundary, what happens when you stop trying to control the outcome.
The equicoach structures the session around simple exercises that invite genuine connection based on respect and mutual consent. You're not training the horse to do something. You're creating the conditions for understanding to emerge. By watching the horse's responses and noticing your own reactions, you gain insight into your way of communicating, your emotional patterns and how you relate to others. The pace is entirely the horse's pace, which means you're also learning to slow down, to listen, to be present in a way that everyday life rarely asks of you.
The experience takes place in the peaceful countryside near the sea, a setting that reinforces the shift away from routine. You can arrange to meet directly at the location, and the session is wheelchair accessible. Children from age 4 can participate, and no fitness level or prior horse experience is required: only a willingness to observe and be observed.
