The experience

The tour leaves Saint Cyprien aboard Nausicaa, a motorboat equipped for a full day on the water. You're not a passenger watching from a bench. You co-navigate with the captain, which means you're involved in how the boat moves and where it goes. The boat itself carries what you need: a cabin to escape the sun, a kitchenette with a refrigerator, a shower, separate toilets, and a bathing ladder for getting in and out of the water safely.

The route follows the rocky Côte Vermeille south toward Spain. Collioure sits in a protected creek, a small Catalan port sheltered by mountains. Port Vendres comes next, a fishing village at the foot of the Albères mountain, then Cap Béar lighthouse perched 800 meters above the coast. The final stop is Paulilles bay, tucked between two capes and known as one of the most popular swimming spots in the Pyrénées Orientales. You'll have time to swim, snorkel with provided masks and fins, or simply float in the bay. The boat carries two fishing rods if you want to try your luck, and refreshments are on board throughout the day.

The captain speaks French and Spanish. Groups stay at four passengers maximum, so the boat never feels crowded. You return to Saint Cyprien at the end of the tour.

Top questions

What languages is the guide in?

Live guide in Spanish and French.

What happens if it rains?

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.

What is Collioure like as a stop on this tour?

Collioure is a small Catalan port 26 kilometers from the Spanish border, sheltered in a rocky creek with an authentic, protected setting. The boat anchors there so you can see the port from the water and spend time in the village itself.

Can I swim during the tour?

Yes. Paulilles bay is the main swimming stop, and the boat has a bathing ladder, fresh water shower and snorkeling gear (masks, fins and snorkels) available. Refreshments are provided on board.

What does co-navigation mean?

You help steer and navigate the motorboat alongside the captain rather than sitting as a passenger. The captain, a retired naval officer, shows you how the boat handles and involves you in the journey.

How many people can go on this tour?

The boat takes a maximum of four passengers, so groups stay small and the experience feels intimate rather than crowded.

What's included in the price?

The fixed price covers fuel, refreshments on board, use of snorkeling gear (masks, fins, snorkels), and access to all facilities on the boat including the cabin, shower and restroom. The price is per group of up to four, not per person.
