The experience

Four to five hours takes you through the quieter side of Helsinki that most visitors miss. You start by cycling through Riistavuoren Park in the east and Huopalahden Park in the west: the first covers 10 hectares of wooded hills with trail networks. The second spreads across 50 hectares with forests, meadows, wetlands and small lakes. A SYKLI-trained guide sets an easy pace and leads you on low-impact routes designed for safety and respectful local travel.

At Seurasaari, you leave the bikes for a leisurely walk around the island, about 1km on foot. The Open-Air Museum holds over 85 authentic wooden buildings transported from across Finland, dating to the 18th and 19th centuries (farmhouses, manors, churches) each one showing how people lived in different regions and social classes. You explore these buildings and the woodland around them, where squirrels and local birds move through the trees. Then you cycle to Central Park, one of Europe's largest urban parks at over 1,000 hectares, where forests, rolling hills and lakes open up views across the landscape.

After the ride, a vegetarian or vegan Finnish BBQ with a drink waits for you. Then comes the sauna: a traditional Finnish experience where heat reaches 80–100 degrees Celsius. The sauna location varies, but the ticket is included. You can request an e-bike at no extra charge when you book. A standard bicycle is the default. Along the way, a light-hearted quiz tests your Finland knowledge, with a small Finnish-themed prize for whoever wins.
