The experience

You arrive at Sahanlahti Resort and get your instructions from the guide before stepping onto an eLyly snow scooter: a Finnish-made electric vehicle with a hull built from wood and a design you won't see anywhere else. The scooter moves by a small gesture of your finger, and the ride is silent. You'll drive across the frozen lake with your guide leading the way on a snow dog, the only sound the soft movement of the scooter beneath you.

Once you've found your spot on the ice, the guide hands you the fishing equipment and shows you how to drill through. You'll cut a hole and lower your line, watching the sonar window to see what's moving in the water below.
