Step-by-step itinerary

Boat tour around Faroe Islands

  • Depart from Sørvágur marina
  • Pass the village of Bøur
  • Stop at Múlafossur waterfall
  • Approach Tindhólmur islet
  • Visit Drangarnir sea stacks

The experience

The boat leaves the marina in Sørvágur and heads toward Múlafossur in Gásadalur, passing the old village of Bøur on the north side of the fjord. From there you get your first view of the Drangarnir sea stacks rising from the water. The crew brings you as close to Múlafossur as the conditions allow so you can photograph the waterfall dropping directly into the Atlantic.

Crossing toward Tindhólmur, a privately owned islet, you'll see Mykines, also called Puffin Island, on the horizon. The route then takes you very close to Drangarnir itself, where the two sea stacks (Stóridrangur and Lítlidrangur) dominate the seascape. If weather permits, the boat sails through the natural arch carved into Stóridrangur, a moment most visitors come for. Throughout the tour you're surrounded by the raw landscape of the Faroes, and the crew (trained and working on fully certified commercial boats) handles the navigation and safety.

What’s included

  • Lifejacket and all safety equipment onboard.
  • live guide in English or Danish.
  • access to the Múlafossur waterfall stop and close approach to the Drangarnir sea stacks.
