Tallinn Bike Tour & Estonian Cooking Class: Cycle & Cook
Ride through Tallinn's green side, then prepare and eat what you've learned to make
A six-hour combined bike tour and cooking class in Tallinn that starts with a guided cycle through Kadriorg Park, the Song Festival Grounds and the Baltic coastline, then moves into a hands-on kitchen where you prepare a three-course traditional Estonian meal with a local chef. The bike portion takes you away from the Old Town crowds to discover local neighborhoods, historical memorials and seaside scenery. The cooking class is relaxed and built around making and sharing food together. A live English-speaking guide leads both halves.

The experience
The day begins on a bike. You'll cycle through Kadriorg Park, a baroque landscape built around Kadriorg Palace (the palace Peter the Great commissioned for Catherine I), then continue past the Song Festival Grounds (the iconic venue that anchors Estonia's national identity), and on to the Baltic Sea coastline. Your guide shares stories about Estonia's past and present as you move through neighborhoods most tourists skip, trading the Old Town's crowded streets for a greener, more local rhythm. The route also passes a modern memorial to Estonians who suffered under communist rule and takes in the atmosphere of a local market that doubles as a community gathering place.
After the ride, you swap the bike for an apron. In the cooking class, a local chef walks you through preparing a three-course Estonian dinner from scratch. You're making it, not watching a demonstration. The meal comes together in a relaxed, hands-on setting, and when it's ready, you sit down and eat what you've cooked. Bike rental, alcoholic beverages and lunch are included. The whole experience runs six hours.

Is this one for you?Small groups work best here. The minimum is two guests, and the relaxed pace of both the ride and the kitchen means you'll get personal attention from your guide and the chef. This tour suits anyone who wants to move through a city on two wheels and then spend time actually making food rather than just tasting it.

What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's the Song Festival Grounds and why does the tour go there?
The Tallinn Song Festival Grounds is the iconic venue where Estonia's national song festival takes place. It's a symbol of Estonian identity and culture. The tour passes it during the bike ride to show you a landmark that matters to locals, not just to tourists.
Do I need to be an experienced cyclist to do this tour?
The tour is suitable for all physical fitness levels. The bike ride takes you through local neighborhoods and parks rather than steep terrain, and you move at a pace that lets your guide share stories along the way.
What kind of Estonian food will I cook and eat?
You'll prepare a three-course traditional Estonian meal with the help of a local chef. The specific dishes depend on the day, but the class focuses on authentic local cuisine and techniques you can take home with you.
Is this tour just the two halves back-to-back, or is there a break between the bike ride and cooking?
The tour combines both experiences in a single six-hour outing. After the bike ride ends, you move directly into the cooking class, so there's a natural transition from exploring the city to working in the kitchen.
Do I need to bring anything or wear specific gear?
Bike rental is included, so you don't need to bring your own. Wear comfortable clothes you can move in for cycling, and plan to change into something practical for the kitchen. An apron is provided for the cooking class.
