The experience
SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth holds over 1,500 sea creatures across several zones. The centerpiece is the 250,000-litre Tropical Ocean Display tunnel, where you walk beneath sharks, rays and the aquarium's largest inhabitants as they move through a recreation of the Lost City of Atlantis. Beyond the tunnel, you'll find Humboldt penguins socialising in their own space, juvenile Blacktip reef sharks in a separate tank, and the Interactive Rockpool Experience where you can touch a starfish and discover the world's smallest crocodiles.
The ticket includes access to daily animal feeds and talks throughout the day, so you can watch keepers work with the creatures and learn how they're cared for. The Dive Adventure Quiz Trail runs through the aquarium, turning your visit into a self-guided exploration. Most visitors spend between an hour and a half to two hours moving through the zones at their own pace. You pick your admission time at checkout: off-peak slots cost less and tend to be quieter, while peak times give you access during busier hours when more talks and feeds are scheduled.
The aquarium is wheelchair accessible, and infants can be brought in prams or strollers. Public transport connections are available nearby. Note that the Tropical Ocean Display tunnel will be closed for refurbishment until April 5, 2025, so plan accordingly if that's a must-see for your visit.
