The Experience

The first thing I noticed was the way the late sunlight hit the water—kind of gold, but not showy, just soft. We stepped onto this old-fashioned river launch near Folly Bridge, and our guide (I think her name was Emma?) greeted us with that relaxed Oxford warmth.
