The Experience

What makes coasteering different from a beach swim is that you're moving through the landscape itself—not along it. You'll start by getting into a wetsuit, buoyancy aid and helmet, then listen to a safety briefing from the lead guide about what to expect and the rules of the activity. From there, you head into the sea to explore the intertidal zone, which is the stretch of coast that sits between the high and low tide marks. This is where the real adventure happens: you'll swim through huge sea caves that are only accessible from the water, scramble over rocks to reach hidden beaches you can't get to any other way, and stop to look at the wildlife living in the rock pools.

The jump sites are scattered along the route, and you'll have the chance to take the leap from several of them if you want to. The whole session is tailored to your group's abilities, so the pace and the challenges adjust to who you are. The location in North Cornwall offers a spectacular coastal setting with plenty of opportunities to explore—the sea will push you around, the rocks will test your balance, and the instructors will keep you safe while you do it. You'll even get a photo taken during the session.

Bring shoes you're happy to get wet and shorts to wear over your wetsuit. Public transportation is available nearby if you're not driving. The session runs 2 hours and is led in English by experienced instructors who know the coastline and the tides.
