Make the cakes and scones, then eat them with proper tea

A three-hour baking class in Stratford-upon-Avon where you make homemade jam, clotted cream, seasonal pudding, Victoria sponges, mini chocolate fudge cakes and both traditional and seasonal scones, then sit down to afternoon tea with your bakes, bubbly and charcuterie. You take home the extras, a jar of jam and an antique piece of crockery, plus written recipes and tips to practice at home. Minimum age is 18. Children aged 10 and up can attend with a parent.

The Experience

You arrive at The Dough House in Stratford's town center and start by making the components that go into a proper afternoon tea: homemade mixed berry jam, clotted cream and a seasonal pudding. Then you move to baking: Victoria sponges, mini chocolate fudge cakes, traditional scones and seasonal or unique varieties, both sweet and savoury. The class uses only organic ingredients, and you'll have plenty of time to get comfortable with each technique.

Once the baking is done, you sit down to the full afternoon tea service with what you've just made, a glass of bubbly, tea or coffee, and a charcuterie board. You take home all the leftovers, a mini jar of jam as a souvenir and an antique piece of crockery. After you leave, the venue emails you written recipes and tips so you can recreate what you learned.
