The Experience

The first thing that happened was I nearly missed the pickup in Aswan — I’d mixed up east and west bank hotels (don’t do that). But our driver just grinned and waved me in anyway, no drama. The Nile cruise ship felt fancier than I expected, but honestly it was the river air that hit me most — this cool, almost peppery smell at dawn. When they dropped us off back in town around 4pm, it was hot and noisy again — real life creeping back in after days floating between worlds.
