The experience

The tour picks you up from your Giza hotel at 7:30 and drives to Alexandria, where the first stop is Kom el Shoqafa. A Roman tomb that descends underground to reveal how Egyptian and Roman architecture merged in a single burial site. You walk down into the tomb itself and see the Caracalla Hall, a chamber that shows the blend of both cultures carved into the stone. From there the guide takes you to Alexandria Library, one of the world's most significant literary sites, then to Pompey's Pillar, a monument built to honor Emperor Diocletian.

The afternoon includes a view of Qaitbay Citadel from outside, the fort that overlooks the Mediterranean, and a stop at the Mosque and shrine of Abu El Abbas on the Cornish waterfront. The final major site is the Roman Amphitheatre, one of Egypt's best-preserved Roman structures, where you can also see the remains of a Roman street and homes. Lunch is included during the day, and all entrance fees are covered.

The minivan is air-conditioned for the full journey. Your guide speaks English and travels with you throughout. The tour ends with drop-off back at your Giza hotel, making it a self-contained day without needing to arrange separate transport or book tickets in advance.
