The experience
The cruise departs Aswan with a guide meeting you at the airport or train station and driving you straight to the ship before lunch. Day one covers the sights around Aswan: Philae Temple reached by small boat for a 2–3 hour visit, then the High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk before your first night aboard. The ship sails overnight to Edfu, where you ride in an Egyptian horse cart to the Temple of Horus in the early morning, then continues to Kom Ombo for an afternoon visit before sailing again to Luxor.
Day three focuses on Luxor's west bank. The guide takes you to the Valley of the Kings to see the tombs of the pharaohs, then stops at Hatshepsut Temple (built by the only woman to rule Egypt alone), and the Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues standing in open desert. Day four is your last: after checking out, you visit Karnak Temple, described as the world's biggest open-air museum, and Luxor Temple before heading to the train station or airport. All transfers between sites and the ship are included. The guide speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French or German depending on your choice at booking.
