The experience
The tour starts in the Nuweibaa desert, where a 4WD picks you up and drives to a local Bedouin village for supplies and fresh bread before heading to an ancient desert well. You'll set up camp there, then hike for an hour to watch the sunset from a hilltop. Dinner is slow-cooked over the fire, and the night ends around the campfire with stories under open sky. You sleep in a tent at the camp.
Day two begins with coffee on a nearby hill to catch the sunrise, followed by breakfast at camp. Then the 4WD takes you to explore canyons and valleys, stopping at natural sites for photos. The main event is Canyon Salama, where you walk barefoot through narrow sandstone passages and see vivid stone formations. After the canyon, you head to Dar Jan Nuweibaa oasis for drinks and a farm tour before the tour ends.
Private transportation and all meals (dinner, breakfast, and supplies) are included. The operator emphasizes ethical tourism and fair trade practices with the Bedouin guides and communities you meet. A moderate level of fitness is needed for the hikes and desert conditions.
