The Experience
The day starts with a drive to Ingapirca, where you walk through the most important archaeological complex in Ecuador. The site reveals 500 years of construction methods spanning Canari and Inca cultures, layered into the same stones. After Ingapirca, you return to Cuenca for the afternoon portion of the tour, moving through the city on foot with your guide.
In Cuenca itself, you walk through a colorful local market, enter one of the most beautiful churches in Ecuador, and move through traditional neighborhoods where the architecture and street life reflect centuries of settlement. The tour includes the main plaza—the most important square in the city, facing the immaculate cathedral—and a stop where you learn about one of Ecuador's most important traditional crafts. The full day runs eight hours from pickup to drop-off.
Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, as is lunch (available in the group tour option with lunch). You travel by private vehicle with a professional driver-guide who speaks English or Spanish. The tour operates as either a private tour or a shared group tour; if you choose the group option without lunch, you'll stop at a restaurant but cover that meal separately.
