The experience
What does it take to make an authentic Ecuadorian ceviche or a proper potato soup? You'll find out in a cozy kitchen in Quito's Historic Center, where a local chef walks you through the techniques and the stories behind the dishes. You're not watching a demonstration. You're doing the cooking yourself, preparing empanadas, roasted guinea pig, and more than 10 other iconic Ecuadorian plates. The class runs 2 to 3 hours, and a private vehicle picks you up from your hotel and brings you back when it's done.
The meal at the end is the food you made, eaten together. Water is included. If you want soft drinks or beer, you order them separately. A chef who speaks English guides the whole thing, so the instructions are clear even if you've never cooked Ecuadorian food before. The kitchen is wheelchair accessible, and the class suits all fitness levels.
