The experience
The tour leaves Quito and heads into the Tungurahua highlands toward Baños, stopping at three major waterfalls along the way. At Agoyan, the first stop, you can choose to zipline or take a cable car across the Pastaza river canyon or simply photograph the view. Manto de la Novia (Bride's Veil) offers the same options: zipline, cable car, or a hike closer to the falls. Then comes a ten-minute walk along Rio Verde on hanging bridges to Pailon del Diablo, where volcanic rock frames a powerful waterfall you can approach closely for photos. The day ends at Casa del Arbol (the Swing at the End of the World), where you swing out over the valley with views toward Tungurahua volcano before settling into your hotel in Baños.
Day two is yours to shape. After breakfast, you pick one adventure sport (white-water rafting, canyoning, or rappel), or choose a gentler option like a bicycle or motorcycle rental, horseback riding, a hike, or soaking in the town's hot springs. Around 2 p.m. the group drives toward Puyo and the jungle, stopping at a wildlife rescue center, exploring the town, and reaching your accommodation for the night, either in a Quichua community or a local hotel.
On day three you visit the jungle lookout, hike to a waterfall (bring swimwear to swim in the water), and spend time with a Quichua community learning about their construction, way of life, and traditional hunting weapons. You'll even get a temporary warrior tattoo made from a local plant. The drive back to Quito closes the tour in the afternoon.
