The experience

You get picked up at your Samaná or Las Terrenas hotel at 8am and travel by bus to the ATV base near Los Naranjos, close to Xeliter Vista Mares Hotel. Once there, your guide walks you through how to operate the Yamaha Crynzly 350cc. A full automatic machine that handles the terrain without manual shifting. The riding starts at 9am and runs until 1:30pm, so you have a solid four hours on the bike and trails.

The route takes you off-road across country terrain, passing through plantations where you learn about local agriculture and Dominican land use. You stop at a family home where you taste fresh Dominican coffee or hot chocolate, and the operator provides fresh fruit salad at this stop. The trail leads to Rincon Beach and Caño Frío, a river canyon with cold water that flows into the sea on the beach side. Bottled water and soft drinks (Coca-Cola, Sprite) are included throughout the ride.

The bus returns you to your hotel by 1:30pm. Lunch is not part of the package, but the coffee, chocolate and fruit at the family stop break up the riding.
