The experience

The morning air in Vilshofen felt crisp when our driver pulled up right outside our hotel. He greeted us by name: no awkward searching for signs or waiting around. The car was spotless, smelled faintly of fresh lemon wipes, and there was a bottle of water already set out for each of us. I liked that he spoke clear English. It made the drive feel more relaxed, especially since my German’s pretty rusty.

We took off just after 9am, rolling past quiet Bavarian streets before hitting the open road toward Prague. Our driver, Tomas, chatted about local spots. He even pointed out a bakery in Passau he likes for apple strudel (wish we’d had time to stop). The ride itself was smooth, with no surprise stops or detours. There was hand sanitizer tucked into the seat pocket and I noticed him wiping down the handles at one point during a break. Felt safe and easy all the way.
