The experience

The tour moves through the Old Town's most important buildings and squares, starting with views of the Castle from the formal viewpoint and the Castle View Bridge. You'll walk past the St. Vitus Church, the Main Square with its Renaissance facades, and the former brewery, then cross to the Latran side to see the baroque St. Josh Church, the hospital and the Monastery complex. The route finishes at either the Baroque Theater or the Castle gardens depending on the option you choose.

A professional art historian guide leads the walk in English or French, sharing the history, legends and stories of the people who shaped the town. The guide is yours alone. This is a private tour, not a shared group experience. If your option includes Castle interiors, that portion happens as part of a separate group tour operated by the Castle itself. The Castle's own guides take over for that section, which is the only way the interior rooms are accessible to visitors.

The walk takes three hours and covers moderate ground through the Old Town's streets and viewpoints. Infants and small children can travel in a pram or stroller, and service animals are welcome. Public transportation is available nearby if you need it before or after. You'll need a moderate level of fitness to manage the walking and any stairs you encounter.
