Curacao West Coast Tour: Shete Boka, Kalki & Kenepa Beach
Four distinct coastlines in one morning: flamingos, crashing waves, and two beaches you can actually swim in
A private van tour of Curacao's west coast visits four natural landmarks in five to six hours: Jan Kok's flamingos, Shete Boka National Park's dramatic cliffs and breaking waves, Kenepa Beach's turquoise waters, and Kalki Beach's quiet bay. A professional driver and air-conditioned transport handle the route while you move between stops at your own pace. Bottled water is provided. A live guide speaks English or Spanish.

The experience
You're picked up from your hotel and driven west in a private, air-conditioned van: no shared minibus, no fixed group schedule. The first stop is Jan Kok, where flamingos wade in shallow water. It's a short walk and a reliable photo moment before the van moves on. Shete Boka National Park comes next, a rugged stretch of volcanic coastline where waves crash hard against the cliffs. You stand at the overlook and watch the ocean's force. The park has several bays and inlets, each one distinct, and the raw power of the sea is the whole point of stopping here.
Then the tour shifts to water. Kenepa Beach is the famous one (bright turquoise, white sand, dramatic cliffs rising behind it), and you get time to swim, float or just sit. The water is clear enough to see down. Kalki Beach, also called Alice in Wonderland, closes the day: a small, quiet bay surrounded by cliffs, with a wooden pier and natural shade. The sand is fine, the water is intense turquoise, and reefs sit close enough to shore that snorkeling is straightforward. You see corals, fish, and if you're lucky, a turtle. The atmosphere is relaxed and uncrowded, which is the whole reason to end here instead of at the more famous beach.
The van is air-conditioned throughout, and bottled water comes with the booking. Your guide speaks English or Spanish and drives the route. Children from age three are welcome, and infants can sit on a lap or use a specialized seat. The tour runs five to six hours total, which means you leave in the morning and are back by early afternoon: long enough to see the coast, short enough to fit into a day with other plans.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Spanish.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Youth (12 to 17 years); Child (3 to 11 years). Children under 3 can't be included in the booking.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What are the flamingos at Jan Kok actually like to see up close?
Jan Kok is a shallow lagoon where flamingos wade in their natural habitat. It's a short stop designed for viewing and photography. The birds are accustomed to visitors and stay visible, making it a reliable opening to the tour.
Can you swim at Shete Boka National Park?
Shete Boka is not a swimming stop. The park is a rugged coastline of volcanic cliffs and breaking waves where you stand at overlooks to watch the ocean's power against the rocky shores. The drama is the draw, not the water.
Is Kalki Beach good for snorkeling?
Kalki Beach, also called Alice in Wonderland, has reefs close to shore and is highly valued for snorkeling. You can see corals, colorful fish, and sometimes turtles. The bay is small and quiet, with a wooden pier and natural shade, making it ideal for a longer swim or snorkel.
How much time do you spend at each beach?
The itinerary includes stops at both Kenepa Beach and Kalki Beach with time to swim and relax at each. The exact duration at each stop depends on the group's pace, but the full tour runs five to six hours from pickup to return.
Do I need to bring my own snorkel gear?
The tour does not include snorkel equipment. Kalki Beach has a diving school on-site where you can rent or purchase gear if you want to snorkel. Bring your own or arrange rental when you arrive at the beach.
