You’ll get your own private speedboat with a local skipper who knows all the best spots—Blue Cave before crowds arrive, secret coves for swimming, and time to explore islands like Vis and Budikovac at your own pace. Perfect if you want freedom, comfort, and some real Adriatic flavor.
The sea was glassy that morning as we left Split’s harbor—just us, our skipper Toni, and the hum of the engine. There’s something about heading out early; the air still smells salty and cool, and you can hear gulls squabbling over breakfast scraps near the docks. Our first stop was Biševo island for the Blue Cave. Toni timed it so we’d beat the crowds—inside, that neon-blue light really does look unreal. You have to duck a bit getting in; I nearly bumped my head, but it was worth it for those few quiet minutes inside.
We cruised next to Vis island—the little town where they filmed Mamma Mia. The locals joke about Pierce Brosnan’s singing if you ask. We grabbed coffee at a tiny waterfront café (can’t remember the name, but their espresso is strong enough to wake anyone). Afterward, we dropped anchor at Stiniva Cove. The cliffs close in tight here—you swim through a narrow gap before it opens up to a pebbly beach. Water’s chilly even in June, but you get used to it fast.
Later on Budikovac Island, Toni handed out snorkels and let us loose in the Blue Lagoon. The water’s so clear you spot sea urchins clinging to rocks below. There’s usually a guy selling ice cream from his boat nearby—he’ll wave if he sees you floating around. Last stop: Pakleni Islands for Palmižana beach and Carpe Diem bar. Sunbathers everywhere, music drifting over from somewhere behind the pines. We lingered longer than planned—nobody wanted to leave just yet.
