Ride to mountain viewpoints, then eat lunch grown on the farm where you stand

Step-by-step itinerary

Farm visit and local lunch

  • Arrive at Naranjal farm
  • Meet the local family
  • Hike to see coffee and fruit plants
  • Enjoy farm-to-table lunch

The Experience

The tour starts with an ATV ride to Naranjal, where a family-run farm sits in the hills above Nosara. Multiple stops along the way let you step out and look down over the mountains and beaches — the views are the draw, and the operator builds the route around them. Once you reach the farm, the guide introduces you to the family and takes you on foot through the planted areas: coffee plants, orange trees, and other fruit and vegetable crops growing in the same soil where your lunch will come from.

After the hike, you sit down to a farm-to-table meal made almost exclusively with food harvested on-site. This is not a restaurant meal brought in; it is built from what grows there. The four-hour total includes the ride, the walking, the introduction to the farm, and the time to eat without rushing. You'll need to be at least 16 years old and comfortable on an ATV; the guide speaks English or Spanish and can adjust the pace if the group needs it.

What’s included

  • ATV and helmet for the ride.
  • a live guide in English or Spanish.
  • a hike through the farm's coffee plants, fruit trees and vegetable crops.
  • an introduction to the family who runs the farm.
  • a farm-to-table lunch made almost entirely from food harvested on-site.

Top questions

What exactly do I do on the ATV part of this tour?

You ride an ATV to Naranjal and stop at several viewpoints along the way to look out over the mountains and beaches around Nosara. The ATV gets you to the farm and to the scenic stops; you're not doing tricks or off-road racing, just traveling to the places the views are.

Is the farm-to-table lunch a big meal, or just a snack?

The lunch is a real meal made almost entirely from food grown on the farm itself — vegetables, fruit, and other crops the family harvests. It's part of the four-hour tour time, so you have time to sit and eat without rushing.

Do I need to be fit to do this tour?

The tour is suitable for all physical fitness levels. The hike through the farm is on foot but not strenuous, and the ATV ride does the heavy traveling. If you have spinal injuries, are pregnant, or have poor cardiovascular health, this tour is not recommended.

Can I choose which language the guide speaks?

The guide is live and speaks both English and Spanish. You can request your preferred language when you book.

How much of the four hours is actually riding versus walking and eating?

The four hours covers the ATV ride to the farm, the hike through the planted areas, the introduction to the family, and the farm-to-table lunch. The operator doesn't break down the exact minutes for each part, but the day is built around seeing the viewpoints, meeting the farm, and eating the meal without rushing any of them.
