You’ll ride a moving tram high above Monteverde’s valley before taking a 143-meter plunge with full safety gear and a local guide by your side. Expect nerves, laughter, and an unreal rush as you swing above the forest — plus all transport included so you can focus on surviving (and maybe enjoying) every second.
I almost missed the pickup because I’d left my passport in the wrong bag — classic me. The driver just grinned and said, “No worries, happens every day,” which made me feel less like an idiot. On the way up to the bungee jump site in Monteverde, the road twisted through misty trees and I kept thinking about how quiet everything felt, except for our guide humming some tune I didn’t recognize. It was colder than I expected, too — my hands kept finding their way into my pockets.
The tram itself looks harmless until you realize it’s your launch pad. Our guide, Diego, explained the whole cable system and checked our harnesses twice (he joked that he likes his job too much to let anyone mess it up). Standing on that little platform as the tram creaked out over the valley… well, my knees were not happy about it. There was this weird smell of wet metal and moss in the air — kind of sharp but clean. Someone ahead of me tried to film with a GoPro but Diego shook his head: “No cameras on the tram.” Fair enough.
I don’t remember what I yelled when I jumped. The drop is so fast your brain just empties out for a second — then you’re swinging there, staring at green hills and clouds that look close enough to touch. My heart was pounding so hard I could hear it over everything else. When they pulled me back up, Diego slapped my shoulder and said something about “valientes” — brave ones — and honestly, I still think about that view from halfway back up. It’s not something you can really explain.
Your tour includes round-trip transport from your accommodation in Monteverde, all safety equipment like helmet and harness, guidance from a professional local expert throughout your extreme bungee jump experience, plus local taxes covered so you can just show up ready to leap.
