The experience
The tour opens with airport pickup and a night in Escazú, then moves into the highlands the next morning. You visit Poás Volcano (one of the world's largest active craters), and continue downslope to La Paz Waterfall, where the forest thickens and the water falls through layers of green. The same day includes a coffee farm where you learn how the beans are grown, harvested and roasted, ending with a fresh cup. This packs three distinct landscapes into a single day before you settle into your hotel.
The next two days split between Manuel Antonio National Park and La Fortuna. Manuel Antonio puts you on white-sand beaches backed by rainforest. You walk jungle trails spotting monkeys, sloths, iguanas and birds, then swim in turquoise water. La Fortuna centers on Arenal Volcano with views across the landscape and access to natural hot springs: thermal pools fed by volcanic heat where you soak surrounded by forest. A day trip to Turtle Island in the Gulf of Nicoya offers snorkeling and beach time on a smaller scale before the final airport transfer.
All accommodations are included, along with guided tours in English or Spanish, airport and hotel transfers, and meals throughout. The pace moves you between regions each day, so you're not staying in one place long enough to feel rushed but also not lingering so long that the itinerary feels thin. Six nights means five full days of activity plus travel days at each end.
