The Experience

The driver picks you up from your hotel and heads to the canyon's surroundings. The drive itself frames what you're about to do: the landscape shifts as you approach Cañon del Chicamocha, and by the time you reach the launch point at the top of one of the hills, the view opens into the canyon itself. This is where the paragliding expert meets you, walks through the equipment, and gives you the safety instructions before you're ready to fly.

Once airborne, you have 15 to 20 minutes in the air. The canyon's walls and the landscape below stay visible the whole time. If you want to stay steady and take in the view, you ask for easy-going mode. If you want to test what the paraglide can do, you can ask the guide for acrobatic moves—tricks in the air are part of what you can choose. The guide flies with you the entire time, so the flight is tandem and you're not alone up there.

After landing, the driver takes you back to your hotel. If you want a recording of the flight, that's available as an add-on purchase at checkout. The whole experience—pickup, flight, equipment, drop-off—runs about four hours from start to finish.
